Take a course at the recording studio used by Courtney Barnett & Birds of Tokyo

PRESS RELEASE:

Enrolment for the Diploma of Sound Production held in Australia’s most unique classroom at The Grove Studios – a professional working studio whose musical recording alumni include Courtney Barnett, Alison Wonderland, Daniel Johns, Sarah Blasko and Birds of Tokyo – is open now for the next course beginning on July 11, with an Open Day to be held at The Grove Studios on Saturday June 4.

With a specially created classroom featuring world-class state of the art technology and set up within the picturesque grounds of The Grove Studios (that also includes accommodation), the Diploma of Sound Production gives students who love music the chance to learn in the active working environment of a professional working studio. You’ll learn analogue and digital recording, live PA, post production, music editing, location recording, mixing and pro tools.

The Grove Studios (Mangrove Rd, Somersby) will be holding an Open Day on June 4 from 10am-2pm, and everyone is welcome to attend. Further details are available via The Grove Studios website: www.thegrovestudios.com

In an opportunity not offered by other sound production courses, Diploma of Sound Production students are given the opportunity to undertake an internship at the Grove Studios that allows them to participate first-hand in the day-to-day workings of a studio – a truly hands on learning experience.

The internship gives selected students the chance to participate in a program that will expand and further develop their knowledge and skills within a working studio environment. With world-class producers and engineers working out of the Grove Studios, students are offered the very unique opportunity to be part of the fast growing team of engineers and producers as well as play pivotal roles in other very exciting projects coming out of The Grove Studios.

In addition, the widely popular guest lectures, given by active working music professionals such as Scott Horscroft – The Grove Studios Head Producer and Director, Burke Reid, Jean-Paul Fung, Ryan Hazel and Jackson Barclay, give students a realistic look at potential careers after they graduate.

Current Diploma Student Zhasana Amai said, “The Diploma has so far been really amazing for me, the environment, the surroundings, accessibility. Everyone is willing to share their knowledge and I feel inspired all the time here. No matter what point you are at, in your creative career, you will feel inspired by someone or something here. I would highly recommend studying here at The Grove Studios.”

The Diploma of Sound Production takes less than a year to complete and is a unique partnership with Hunter TAFE’s Regional Music Institute.
