Sia’s management launches JV with Warner

Warner Music Grouphas announced its joint venture label withCrush Music, the management company behind Sia, Train, Fall Out Boy and Weezer.

The first act signed to the Crush Music label is multi-Platinum alt-rock heavyweights Weezer, who will release the band’s self-titled, tenth studio album (aka The White Album) on WMG’s Atlantic Records in April.

Crush Music co-founders Jonathan Daniel and Bob McLynn founded the company as a management firm in 2002. It has since expanded into a full-service music company covering TV and film, radio, digital and PR.

Crush Music CMODan Kruchkow will oversee all releases, which will be delivered via Atlantic and Warner Bros. Records. Head of A&R Evan Taubenfeld will continue to bring in new talent, working in conjunction with Crush’s A&R staff.

Bob McLynn said Crush had previously developed its artists Panic! at the Disco and Travie McCoy/Gym Class Heroes with the Warner Music team. “So when it was time to find a partner for our new label venture, we knew WMG would be a natural fit,” he said.

Julie Greenwald, Atlantic Records Chairman & COO, and Craig Kallman, Atlantic Records Chairman & CEO said in a statement: “Our association with Jonathan, Bob, and their outstanding team goes back over a decade, and we’re thrilled to take our partnership to a new level with the formation of the Crush Music label.

“They bring great ears, creativity, vision, and dedication to their work, and they share our mission of building artists’ careers for the long haul. And to be able to launch the label with a new album from Weezer is simply fantastic.”

Weezer’s official lead single off of The White Album, Thank God For Girls, was the most added track on alt-radio in the US after just two days of airplay. It hit #11 on the Billboard alt charts last November and is in the Top 10 at US alt radio. The track receives itsofficial radio servicein Australiathis week.
