CMC Music Awards gets US co-host

US rising country music star Kelsea Ballerini is set to share the hosting reins with CMC ambassador Morgan Evans next month.

The Foxtel operated and presented Awards on March 10 will see ‘Country’s Next Queen’ (Billboard) co-host the Awards at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) in Brisbane.

Signed to Nashville’s Black River Entertainment (Craig Morgan, Kellie Pickler, John King), Ballerini is the first solo female artist in nine years to hit #1 in the US with her debut country single (Love Me Like You Mean It) and is one of only 11 women to have ever hit the top of the charts with a debut release. Last year she received Billboard’s Rising Star award at the Women In Music event.

Performing on the night will be Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, Nashvillestar Sam Palladio and Adam Harvey. Announced this morning, Australia’s own Beccy Cole and Shane Nicholson will also perform.

The aforementioned artists will also perform at the annual CMC Rocks festival over March 11-13, which for the first time ever has sold out with a record-breaking 13,500 people set to attend.
