Rebeat launches distribution & royalty platform to solve labels’ data issues
PRESS RELEASE:
Digital distribution company REBEAT, whose clients include leading heavy metal label Nuclear Blast and Red Bull Media House, has unveiled its new Music Enterprise Software (MES), which for the first time combines digital distribution and royalty accounting in a single one stop shop.
MES has been designed to save labels time and money dealing with the tsunami of data from digital services, by handling sales and royalty accounting processes together in the same platform, helping increase efficiency and reduce error.
For the one-off cost of just €149, the base MES package includes digital distribution via REBEAT, royalty accounting and US mechanical royalties accounting, all simple enough to be operated by one person.
Labels can use the royalty accounting tool to factor in different percentage splits for differing territories, enable advance payments to recoup against each artist’s share of the royalties and offer a dashboard for partners to view their sales data and trends.
A series of optional add-on modules enables clients to fully tailor MES to their needs. This includes Sub-accounting, which enables users to provide accounting services to their third party label clients for sales made through REBEAT’s digital distribution.
Also new is REBEAT’s forthcoming module – The Matrix – available from March. This powerful add-on will enable labels to use the platform as a meta-distributor, co-ordinating other digital distributors across the world. They will also be able to use REBEAT as a delivery only partner and deliver content to DSPs under the label’s own existing contracts. All of these options can be freely combined for each individual release, shop and sales territory. A further module, Revenue Import, will enable accounting for physical sales, merchandising and ticketing.
Guenter Loibl, CEO of REBEAT, said: “The volume of reporting data from digital services has increased a lot in recent years, making management and royalty accounting a challenge. As many labels still use distinct services to manage these operations, we developed MES as a one-stop complete content management system, to combat that fragmentation, reduce error and allow labels to focus resources on the stuff they do best. With even more developments lined up for the coming months we’re really excited for clients to see what MES can do.”
