Honeyblood have recently been in the studio after a non-stop 2015 that saw them touring extensively and supporting the Foo Fighters. The follow up to 2014’s eponymous debut album has been recorded in London with producer James Dring at the helm. Formed in late 2011 via their shared love of groups like Television, Battles, The Stooges, Can & Women, TRAAMS are set to release their sophomore album in 2016. Championed by BBC6 MUSIC, TRAAMS’ music is a distinct form of post-punk leaning Krautrock that is in equal parts catchy and hypnotic. New additions to the FatCat roster include Big Deal. Formed by London’s Alice Costelloe and California native KC Underwood, Big Deal have evolved from their origins of two guitars and expanded their sound, making their emotionally charged guitar pop bigger and brighter than ever before. The label’s 130701 imprint has released some of the most important records of the last decade and single-handedly defined the post-classical genre. It was recently relaunched and will be celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. Originally set up to release albums bySet Fire To Flames (Godspeed you black emperor!, A Silver Mt Zion, etc), the imprint has been pivotal in defining the post-classical genre and uncovering some of its most recognisable names (Max Richter, Hauschka, Dustin O’Halloran, Sylvain Chauveau, Johann Johannsson).
