Prepare to party through time from 1954 to 2016 with the best songs from pop music history in a psychedelic whirlwind of singing, dancing and hugging. Songs are played in strict chronological order with giant visuals; all mixed live from vinyl turntables by Hot Dub Captain, DJ Tom Loud, who returns with his brand new time machine. Since its debut at the Sydney Fringe in 2011, Hot Dub has exploded across the world, selling out shows and breaking dancefloors from the Enmore to Edinburgh and everywhere in between. For this massive hometown show, expect plenty of surprises and as always the Best. Party. Ever.
In another first, Comedy Centralwill be staging its first-ever Australian live shows at the Spectrum Now Festival Big Top @ The Domain on 7 and 9 March. “Comedy Central Presents: A Night of Stand Up with The Workaholics and Special Guests” will feature the stars and creators of the hit US TV series ‘Workaholics’ – Blake Anderson, Adam Devine, Anders Holm and Kyle Newacheck – hosting a laugh-out-loud showcase featuring some of Australia’s emerging and most established comedians to celebrate the launch of the world’s #1 comedy brand on our fair shores.

Complementing the ticketed program is the music line-up for the free-to-attend Domain fairground. Guests are invited to step through the illuminated gothic arches and join the madcap adventure where burlesque performers, pop up tattoo parlours, barbershops and a delicious food and drink offering will be accompanied by a selection of house bands who will be lighting up the stage each night. The family-friendly carnival of fun will see The Pigs, Australia’s craziest quartet, create quite the commotion. Their unique bluegrass covers of pop hits from the likes of Beyoncé and Kanye are guaranteed to have guests dancing on the long tables and whipped in to a foot stomping frenzy.
The Crusty Suitcase Band, a powerhouse of brass music, will be belting out turn-of-the-century-gypsy-junk-yard-jazz, alongside Lyre Byrdland and a raft of other musicians yet to be revealed.
Festivalgoers will have their chance to shine on stage come March 7 as Marie’s Crisis and Hayes Theatre Co invite guests to gather ‘round the piano and join in a giant Broadway sing-a-long with stars of Australia’s best musical theatre. Hailing from New York’s West Village, this down-and-dirty piano bar, complete with singing waiters, will have you warbling everything from Rent to Wicked as they continue their 10-day stint at Sydney’s QT Hotel’s Parlour Lane Roasters.
