5 Seconds of Summer head for #1 debuts in US, UK

5 Seconds of Summer are heading for #1 debuts in the US and the UK with their second album Sounds Good Feels Good, which was released worldwide on October 23.

Billboard last night reported that industry forecasts expect that a combined sales, streaming and downloads would earn it about 185,000 equivalent album units by today. The new Billboard chart is due out on its websites on Sunday.

It will be the second U.S. chart topper for the Sydney band. Last June, their self-titled debut also tore into the charts at #1 after first week of sales of 259,000. It went on to reach top spot in 13 countries and Top 10 in in 26 countries.

Meantime, the UK’s Official Chart Co expects Sounds Good Feels Good to debut at #1 in the UK tomorrow – the band’s first chart topper album there.

The first album peaked at #2 there and stayed four weeks in the Top 10, and the live album LiveSOS at #31. Their singles have notched up one #1 and three Top 10s.

The Sounds Live Feels Live Tour in 2016 earlier this month announced dates in Asia, the UK, Ireland, the US and Canada so far.
