Great Scott! Lola Scott signs with AWAL, Dew Process Publishing

Lola Scott gears-up for the next stage of her music career by striking new deals with AWAL and Dew Process, TMN can reveal.

To celebrate the good news, Scott releases ‘Delete My History’ on Thursday evening (March 17), her first single via AWAL and Dew Process Publishing, which is administered by Kobalt and is part of the Secret Sounds Group.

“It’s always been very important to me that my whole team understands my creative vision and supports and trusts me to make weird shit and I feel like I have truly found the perfect people to support all my creative endeavors in Dew Process/Kobalt and AWAL,” Scott enthuses in a statement.

At Dew Process Publishing, the multi-instrumentalist indie-pop artist joins a roster that includes a range of publishing and sync clients, from Mallrat to Evan Klar, Spacey Jane, Darren Middleton, Last Dinosaurs and others.

Kobalt, which recently sold AWAL to Sony Music in a deal worth an estimated US$430 million, signed an exclusive deal to provide global catalogue administration for Dew Process’s publishing arm back in 2012.

“Alex is the damn best and we are super excited to be working with her alongside our friends at Kobalt and AWAL,” comments Harry Young, Head of A&R for Dew Process Publishing.

“She’s a brilliant artist and also an incredibly talented songwriter and producer, who will have a big impact both here in Australia and overseas.”

Paul Piticco established the Dew Process brand in 2002, with its headquarters in Brisbane and a second office in Sydney. Today, its publishing arm is led by Fergus Jenkins, General Manager – Publishing & Sync.

At AWAL, Scott joins a team that’s played a part in the remarkable run of success for Genesis Owusu, who, in the space of six months, has scooped up almost every prize on offer, from ARIA Awards to the Australian Music Prize, the J Award for Australian album of the year, and the Vanda & Young Songwriting Competition.

“Alex is an incredible artist, and a true creative across every aspect of her music and visuals,” comments Ben Godding, Senior Marketing Director at AWAL.

“It’s been amazing to see her gain success here in Australia already. With her new music we are set to see her further evolve, both home and abroad. AWAL is so excited to be partnering with Alex and her new team.”

The Sydneysider plays in the space between indie and synth pop, and has punched out a string of singles and EPs over the past four years.

Her essential tunes include ‘Jogging Shoes,’ I Wanted to Call Her But I’m Tragic And She’s Oversees’ and ‘The Eviction Song.’

She’s managed by Altchord.
