Electronic Music Conference Reveals 2015 Program
PRESS RELEASE:
Asia Pacific’s leading Electronic Music Conference (EMC) today announced phase one of this year's program, boasting over 100 artists and industry figures set to take part in keynotes, panels, masterclasses and networking sessions this December 1-2 at the Ivy, Sydney.
This year’s program is centred around the theme ‘Connectivity’ with a particular focus on the role technology and collaboration plays in electronic music. Sessions to watch out for include keynotes from international DJ legend Carl Cox, a one-on-one conversation between label boss and owner of one of the world’s biggest record collections Gilles Peterson and local hero Ta-ku. Plus, there will also be insights into the team behind five times Platinum-selling artist Timmy Trumpet as well as this year’s comprehensive JMC Masterclass Program featuring over 35 leading Australian artists.
Highlight sessions of this year’s EMC’s 2015 conference program include:
Oh Yes! Oh Yes! : It’s The Carl Cox Keynote Talk
The word “legend” gets thrown around a lot in dance music, but they really don’t come much more legendary than Carl Cox. For over three decades, Cox has been a permanent fixture on the international techno scene – and somehow he’s always got the freshest tunes. A big personality with immaculate taste, supreme technical mixing skills and more plaudits than we can list, Carl Cox and dance music are inextricably linked together. In this much-anticipated forty minute keynote conversation, we’ll cover everything from his origin story to the role of the DJ in 2015, and what the future holds for Cox – and techno.
