The iHeartRadio Wreckers are the victors of the 2019 Ricochet Ball charity netball tournament, organised by KLP and music publicist Anna Fitzgerald.

12 teams from the music industry competed for the championship trophy at the Robyn Webster Sports Centre in Tempe, with $27,000 raised for charity on the day.

The figure beat last year’s total of $24,000.

For their trouble, the winners received a donation of $7,000 to their chosen charity Beyond Blue, after beating last year’s winners TMRW Music in a tightly contested final.

Foxtel’s Fox Shot team raised the most amount of money, while other teams competing on the day came from APRA AMCOS, Warner Music, 2DayFM, Select Music, Nike, Net Top Models, Sportify, UNDR Ctrl and Pedestrian Group.

Musicians including JXN, KLP, Nick from Set Mo and Odette joined in on the day, as well as industry figures Brett ‘Nozz’ Nossiter leading the iHeartRadio team, Danny Lakey from the Hit Network, CEO of APRA AMCOS, Dean Ormston, and Jane Slingo from EMC.

“We are so proud of all the teams who competed in Ricochet BALL, and more importantly how much money was raised for charity! It’s not often enough that the music and media industries get together in a healthy environment and get to be active and play sport,” said KLP and Fitzgerald.

“We put a lot of work into getting Ricochet BALL going and to raise over to $50,000 for charity in two years is just amazing. We want to thank all the players, volunteers and sponsors for getting on board. Bring on next year!”
