2019 ARIA Awards to be broadcast on Nine Network live from The Star

2019 ARIA Awards to be broadcast on Nine Network live from The Star

The country is starting to thaw out as summer approaches, meaning ARIA Award season will soon be upon us. Everything seems to be on track for the music industry’s night of nights, with organisers today announcing key partners for the 33rd annual awards including Nine Network, The Star Event Centre and Destination NSW.

As per the announcement, the 2019 ARIA Awards will broadcast live into Australian homes via the Nine Network. This marks the third year ARIA and Nine have collaborated for the awards ceremony, a collaboration that has been mutually beneficial, with last year’s broadcast reaching a head-spinning half a million viewers in total. Within that half a million total is a record breaking amount of viewers from the 16 to 39 and 18 to 49 age groups.

The 2018 broadcast saw #ARIA become the top trending hashtag on Twitter, with users deploying the hashtag in 14 countries and 150 cities around the world.

The 2019 ARIA awards will also be live streamed via YouTube thanks to a partnership with YouTube Music.

On the ground, the event will be returning to its habitual home at The Star Event Centre, with all the glitz and glam going down on Wednesday, 27th November.

Speaking of the announcement, Denis Handlin AO, ARIA Chairman and Chairman and CEO of Sony Music Entertainment Australia and New Zealand and President of Asia says, “On behalf of the ARIA Board, we welcome back the Nine Network as our television broadcast partner for the ARIA Awards in 2019 and we look forward to working with Nine’s CEO Hugh Marks and his team for a third year. We are also thrilled to again have Destination NSW and The Star help us celebrate another outstanding year for Australian music at this year’s Awards.”

Hamish Turner, Nine Network Program Director, adds “We’re thrilled to welcome back the ARIA Awards on our screens for 2019, and champion some incredible Australian music in the process. For 32 years, the ARIA Awards have delighted us with brilliant performances from some of the biggest names in music, and this year will be no different.”

Last week it was announced that members of the public can score tickets to their own ARIA experience, which will include a stroll down the red carpet followed by welcome canapés and drinks, dinner on site, after parties and, of course, the opportunity to see our countries best and brightest music talent IRL.

Pre-sale tickets are available as of this morning, with general sale going live on Tuesday, 17th October. For more information head over to the ARIA website.

Brace yourself for further updates regarding the 2019 ARIA Awards, including the ever-coveted list of this year’s nominees.
