The NSW Government which has been focussing on building up Western Sydney’s music, arts, screen and culture sectors is setting up a roundtable to cover these areas.

The initiative, through Create NSW, is asking for Expression of Interest applications for the Western Sydney Art, Screen and Culture Roundtable.

They are looking for emerging and established practitioners and workers who can contribute to strategic policy making and have:

* specialist artform knowledge

* a professional association in the arts and/or cultural sector

* experience of working with Aboriginal arts and culture

* experience of working with CALD (Cultural and Linguistically Diverse) arts

* business or legal expertise within the arts sector

* leadership or strategic planning skills

* a strong background in governance.

Applications close at midnight on March 5. These will be reviewed by Create NSW directors and provide the department CEO with a shortlist of recommendations.

Roundtable members will serve from April 6 to December 31.

Among Create NSW’s more recent initiatives to build up Western Sydney’s creative industries are the $400,000 Making Spaces program to provide individuals and organisations funds to develop new spaces including pop ups, studios and offices, the Western Sydney Arts, and the Western Sydney Live and Local music festival program.
