Voting for the 2022 Triple J Hottest 100 Is Officially Open

It’s that time of year again: voting for the triple j Hottest 100 is officially open.

Voting for Australia’s fiercely contested music poll opened at 8am this morning, and will remain open until Monday, January 23rd at 12pm AEDT.

As is tradition, the Hottest 200-101 countdown will take place the day before the main countdown on Friday, January 27th from 10am AEDT. The Hottest 100 will then officially be revealed on Saturday, January 28th from 12pm AEDT.

Double J will then close the weekend by reminiscing about the Hottest 100 of 2002, which saw Queens of the Stone Age see off strong competition from the likes of Grinspoon and The Vines with to triumph with their alternative rock hit “No One Knows”.

The following weekend, the Hottest 100 music videos of 2022 will be counted down on rage. You can see a handy breakdown of all the important dates below.

This year, triple j is aiming to raise money for the Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF). The ACF  is a national environment organisation dedicated to finding solutions to the climate crisis.

Fans can help by making a donation to the ACF or by grabbing a Hottest 100 t-shirt for $45. All proceeds will go to help ACF fund vital projects to protect our environment.

No one needs reminding of who won the last edition of the Hottest 100: beloved children’s group The Wiggles earned the top spot for their groovy cover of Tame Impala’s classic psych-rock anthem “Elephant”, which mixed in their own iconic song “Fruit Salad”.

That saw them see off pop superstars like Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X, as well as beat out triple j favourites like Gang of Youths and Spacey Jane.
