Former Mumbrella editor Vivienne Kelly joins Take 2 Media

Take 2 Media has appointed Vivienne Kelly as editor of The Music Network and Radio Today.

Kelly joins the music and radio industry trade outlets September 14 from Mumbrella, after almost four years leading editorial for the media and marketing industry masthead.

She replaces Jake Challenor, who remains Take 2 Media’s publisher and content director.

He will continue to write for both titles, host Ticker Entertainment on Ticker TV and lead Take 2 Media’s growing events, partnerships and content efforts.

Challenor said he is looking forward to breaking more stories with Kelly from next month.

“I’ve been a frustrated fan of Viv’s reporting at Mumbrella since she arrived there four years ago. A fan because she’s broken some important stories in our industry, and frustrated because she’s beat me to the publish button on multiple occasions,” he said.

“Her appointment is a real coup for us and an even bigger win for our valued readers and commercial partners in the music and media business. She joins at a challenging time for both sectors – our audience needs quality journalism more than ever right now.”

Kelly began her career as a reporter with Momentum Media, elevating to managing editor of the publisher’s real estate and property investment brands.

During her time at Mumbrella, Kelly led the publication to record-high traffic, spearheaded its 10th-anniversary celebrations, transformed its radio coverage, helped relaunch the podcast, and hosted a raft of the brand’s summits and awards programs.

Kelly said she is excited to spend more time covering the radio and audio industry and can’t wait to meet everyone in the music industry.

“Radio and audio have always been my passion. I am so excited to be able to give it my full attention and fully immerse myself in the industry I care so much about,” she said.

“Radio, like me, is vulnerable, transparent, tells real stories and connects with people in a real and passionate way. I’m looking forward to elevating this publication more as the industry transforms and emerges from this period of turmoil.

“And what could be better than the pairing of radio and music? I can’t wait to help bring more stories, hope, inspiration and change to The Music Network.

“It might be a challenging time for both sectors, but there are stories to tell, people changing the game, and businesses surviving in the face of it all. I’ll be there for all of it.”

The Music Network and Radio Today delivered over one million page views in the June quarter, per Google Analytics, an increase of over 25% for the same period last year.
