Vance Joy earns slot on world’s top-grossing Hot Tours list

Sandwiched between the joint country powerhouse tour of Kip Moore & Lee Brice and Latin singer El Fantasma aka “The King of the Underground” on the Billboard Hot Tour list is Australia’s own Vance Joy.

The list, which tallies the top-grossing concert tours in the world using Boxscores, is topped by RCA Records signing Khalid with $8.7 million in ticket sales from his Roxy tour.

Vance Joy, who in March scored his second ARIA #1 with second release Nation Of Two, ranked 6th on the top-grossing tours list. His shows between June 11-15 in New York, Washington, and Boston grossed $868,074.

Over four dates the folk-pop superstar played to 18,649 fans as part of his Nation of Two World Tour.

Speaking to TIO, Vance Joy’s co-manager Jaddan Comerford said:

“Vance Joy’s audiences in North America are huge,” he said. “People just love him and whether it’s El Paso, Texas or Boston, Massachusetts, people really get into it and you can hear the crowd singing every word. We just started the Canada leg of the tour where he played to a sold out crowd of 16,000 people on Friday night in Toronto.”

Vance also added more shows to his Australian leg, that’ll see him conquer some of the country’s biggest stages. He’ll now play two nights at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion, with second shows added at Adelaide’s Thebarton Theatre on Monday 17 September and Freo Arts Centre on Monday 24 September.

“We can’t wait to bring the tour to Australia to see how the crowds react. Judging from sales and multiple sold out shows I should be a great tour,” Comerford added.
