Uncharted: Jess Glynne unleashes a pop radio gem
Jess Glynne – All I Am (ATL/WMA)
Jess Glynne’s universal positivity is on show once again in new single All I Am, the follow up to I’ll Be There. While Australia is perhaps more used to hearing Glynne as a feature artist (Rudimental’s These Days, Clean Bandit’s Rather Be), she has two Top 10 singles as a lead artist on the TMN Hot 100. Glynne is set to release her upcoming album Always In Between in October.
Calvin Harris & Sam Smith – Promises (SME/EMI)
One of the most highly anticipated singles of the week, Calvin Harris and Sam Smith have delivered something special. Promises was written by the pair with the help of Canadian singer Jessie Reyez. Together, Harris and Smith have achieved four #1 singles at Australian radio (Summer, How Deep Is Your Love, This Is What You Came For, Too Good At Goodbyes).
Marshmello ft. Bastille – Happier (AST/EMI)
Another collab grabbing our attention this week is from EDM heavyweight Marshmello and UK indie band Bastille. Forged in 2017 and produced optimally for Top 40, Happier is a return to a more radio-friendly sound for the DJ whose singles Wolves ft. Selena Gomez, Silence ft. Khalid and FRIENDS ft. Anne-Marie all reached the Top 10 on the Hot 100.
Imagine Dragons – Natural (INT/UMA)
Imagine Dragons’ Natural will get its shot at radio next week with 2017 smash hit Thunder (#3) recently falling off the Hot 100 after 47 weeks in the chart. Natural debuted at #45 on the latest Billboard Radio Songs chart and has also been picked up by ESPN as the anthem for the upcoming US college football season. The group have notched up four Top 10 singles on the Hot 100 since Radioactive took the world by storm in 2012.
