UMPA extends publishing deal with The Veronicas

Universal Music Publishing Australia extended its publishing deal with multi-platinum ARIA winning duo The Veronicas, covering Australia and New Zealand.

Announcing the news this morning, Arwen Hunt, vice president, Creative/A&R at UMPG Australia & New Zealand, said: “I’m a little obsessed with Jess and Lisa, to be honest.

“They are extraordinary talents and making the best music of their career.

“Having spent time with them and their incredible management team of Grant Gillies and David Gillett from Red Management, I have no doubt that our creative partnership will deliver on the vision we all share.

“UMPG is humbled and honoured to continue our journey with The Veronicas.”

In a joint statement, The Veronicas said: “We’ve spent the past eight months creating and collaborating with an amazing group of writers and artists, pouring our hearts into an album.

“Experimenting with cross-genre elements has been the most exciting part of making this record.

“We cannot wait to release it in conjunction with the wonderful teams at Universal Music Publishing Australia.”

The identical twins from Queensland have recently worked with emerging talent such as Mallrat, Allday, CXLOE and some of the biggest US writers including Wrabel (Ellie Goulding, Marshmellow, Kesha) and Bram Inscore (Troye Sivan, Chloe x Halle) and Evan Bogart (Beyoncé, Rihanna).

They’ve just dropped new single ‘Think Of Me’, following up the #1 hit ‘In My Blood’.

Over 15-years, the duo has achieved ten top 10 singles in Australia with three number #1 hits, as well as more than 500 million streams.

Prolific songwriters and multi-instrumentalists, The Veronicas have written or co-written many of their hits including the chart-topping ‘You Ruin Me’ and ‘In My Blood’.

They were the first artists from Australia to hit platinum in the US with their single ‘Untouched’.
