Turn Up! Sunshine Coast music industry conference call for industry personnel

Turn Up, the Sunshine Coast Creative Alliance, Scenestr and Shake It Up Music are calling on musicians and music industry personnel from the Sunshine Coast region and Greater South East Queensland to come together, connect, network, listen, learn and be inspired at The Lind Theatre, Nambour on Thursday 13 October for the 2016 Sunshine Coast Music Industry Conference. Supported by The Regional Arts Fund, APRA/AMCOS and the Sunshine Coast Creative Alliance, the Turn Up Conference is now in its third year and is Queensland’s premier regional music conference.

The program includes:

• Insights from leading industry achievers.
• A keynote presentation.
• Discussion panels by industry experts focusing on song writing, performing, producing, publishing, record labels, venues, community radio, management and festivals.
• Master class series with guitar gods Phil Emmanuel and Owen Van Larkins, Social Media with Adam Bean and Band Management/Planning with Dennis Dunstan (former manager of Fleetwood Mac). The Master classes are limited to small groups.
• Net working opportunities with industry veterans and fellow practitioners.

Sunshine Coast Mayor, Mark Jamieson, is excited to be opening the 2016 Turn Up conference which will inform, educate and inspire delegates to strengthen their career aspirations within the local music industry.

The past, thepresent and the future of record labels, representation, retail and radio will be discussed by industry experts Aaron Nevylan (Sony Music), Barry Bull, John Williams (Southern Cross Media) and Dennis Dunstan (Frontrow Management).

Turn Up’s Program Director, Eloise Gallagher, said, “The Turn Up Conference provides impetus for music people on the Sunshine Coast to come together, talk, listen and learn, strengthening our local industry, The Sunshine Coast is alive with the sound of music at festivals, in venues, in parks and on the streets. Our region is being recognised for its music, thanks to the incredible work of artists and the continued support of the Sunshine Coast Council, the TAFE East Coast music programs, the Sunshine Coast Creative Alliance and the growing number of venues and events booking live original music.”
