ARIA chart-topping Tones And I leads Spotify’s Front Left Live
Spotify’s Front Left Live is returning for a second year, after the streaming giant debuted its live inaugural playlist event in 2018.
The event heads to the Forum, Melbourne, and is once again set to showcase some of Spotify’s top trending artists.
Leading the Aussie contingent is Tones and I, undoubtedly one of the hottest acts in the country right now.
The busker-turned commercial-crossover radio start has tracks in 157 Spotify playlists worldwide, has racked up over 40 millon streams globally in less than four months, and this week holds the #1 spot on the ARIA Singles Chart for a second consecutive week.
She’s joined on the lineup by Sweden’s Tove Lo, girl in red (Norway) and NZ-hailing BENEE, as well as local act Electric Fields.
The event will also feature some special international guests.
“We were thrilled with the response to Front Left Live last year,” says Spotify ANZ’s head of music culture and editorial Alicia Sbrugnera.
“The goal was to build a stronger Spotify playlist brand, then take it to the stage through a live event; our first major live public event in this region and the first time bringing a playlist brand to life.
“In doing so we were able to increase the listenership of the Front Left playlist and help over 500,000 fans discover more of the best and most diverse new music than ever before.”
Spotify’s Front Left playlist has over 500,000 followers and aims to be “Australia’s destination of choice for discovering the best genre-defying new music.”
