Thelma Plum stars in new Telstra “magic” ad
Award-winning Indigenous singer-songwriter and triple j discovery Thelma Plum features in the new Telstra ad campaign.
Its theme is that the magic that happens when you combine technology and Telstra’s mobile network.
The cameras follow Plum as she walks through shops, using her iPhone and Apple Watch to synchronise flash mob dance routines and light shows.
The 60-second ad’s soundtrack is Plum’s rendition of Flight Facilities’ Clair de Lune.
“We’re thrilled to be able to work with Thelma – she has a captivating way of demonstrating the magic that’s possible when technology and the country’s best mobile network come together,” says Justin Drape, co-founder and creative director of Sydney-based creative agency The Monkeys.
The ad was produced by Goodoil Films and directed by Joel Kefali.
Plum’s track has been released to coincide with the campaign’s launch.
