The Veronicas find their final five for Samsung’s UNDSCVRD comp

Samsung Electronics Australia’s UNDSCVRD competition enters its last phase, with its final five contestants selected by The Veronicas.

The contest is described as a “TikTok docu-style reality series” which should shine a spotlight on several rising Aussie talents.

Samsung Galaxy presents the series, which will capture the journey of the selected artists, recruited via TikTok, as they collaborate with The Veronicas and record producer James Angus (Example, The Veronicas, Carmouflage Rose, Nicole Millar).

Aside from the exposure and storytelling, the finalists will get the chance to produce an original single and accompanying music video, under the mentorship of the Angus and the Origliasso sisters.

The five finalists include Taigh Wade (20), Jade Stegbauer (18), Jordyn Richards (18), Felix ‘Checko’ Pacheco (17), and Rhian Aoun (17), each of whom will maintain complete ownership of their music masters and associated content, and will be able to release their music as part of the UNDSCVRD series, according to a rep.

The four-week series will air exclusively on the @UNDSCVRD_artist TikTok channel with the first episode going live in October.

Filming starts next week.

The Veronicas know more than most about unleashing pop hits into the world. The Brisbane twin sisters have had nine Top 10 hits in Australia including three No. 1s, they’ve collected over half a billion streams across their career, and upwards of 175 million YouTube/Vevo views.

The duo also enjoyed a string of international breakthroughs including ‘Untouched,’ which peaked at No. 19 on U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2009, and No. 8 in the U.K., and 2014’s ‘You Ruin Me,’ which also peaked at No. 8 in the U.K., one of three Top 20 hits in that territory.
