After 12 years of independence, The Teskey Brothers sign to Ivy League Records

Ivy League Records are going to need a bigger boat, announcing yet another new signing this morning.

The latest addition to the Aussie label’s rapidly-expanding roster are smooth soulsters The Teskey Brothers.

After over a decade honing their craft in Melbourne, the R&B, Motown-inspired foursome received much critical acclaim for their debut album Half Mile Harvest in 2017.

Written by all four band members and self-recorded and produced in their home studio, the band channel the greats of soul and blues from eras past.

The record sat at #2 on the Australian iTunes chart and sold over 20,000 copies.

The Teskey Brothers also played sold-out headline tours around Australia, the UK and the US, and are fresh from the Fuji Rock Festival over the weekend.

Mushroom Label’s COO, Chris Maund said: “We are so excited to be working with The Teskeys.

“They have achieved so much already and we feel so lucky and honoured to have the opportunity to take their classic soul/blues-soaked songs and sound to the next level.”

Teskey’s bassist and producer Brendon Love adds: “The Teskeys are extremely happy to be joining the Ivy League family.

“They are a forward-thinking and enthusiastic bunch of music nerds and we couldn’t imagine a better home for our band.

“Having been together for 12 years and never worked with a label or publisher before it was super important to us that there was an understanding of our approach to music. Ivy League totally get it.”

The join the fam alongside The Rubens, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, Hatchie, Cloud Control and more.

They’ve also signed to iconic American label Glassnote Records for the rest of the world.
