The Buckleys land global representation [exclusive]
Byron Bay country music trio The Buckleys have followed up the success of their debut single by signing with Los Angeles-based agent Randy Salcedo for global representation.
Salcedo, who was with CAA (Creative Artists Agency) for 17 years, is now with Sound Talent Group.
The partnership was finalised by the band’s record label Petrol/Universal’s founder Christopher M. Murphy, INXS’s manager turned creative strategist.
On the new partnership, Salcedo said, “Some months ago, Chris sent me a link to a new band he was considering for the label, The Buckleys.
“At first I was surprised that Petrol Records would consider signing a new artist, so I thought this band must be good.
“Well, they are. I am extremely honoured to be given the opportunity to guide The Buckleys’ live career.”
The Buckleys are made up of siblings Sarah (19), Lachlan (18) and Molly (16).
They spent time in Nashville working on songs with a number of Grammy-winning and nominated producers and engineers and played festivals around the US and Australia.
Their debut single ‘Daydream’, released in mid-June, went Top 10 in the ARIA Country Charts.
It also rises to a new peak on the latest TMN Country Airplay Chart at #6.
Murphy points out, “The selection of an agent for me is one of the most important decisions a manager and or artist will ever make.
“Booking agents are mostly never seen or heard when an artist’s success is mentioned.
“My father was an agent, my mother was an agent and I loved being an agent before converting my skills to artist management with INXS.”
