The Brag Media announces the launch of Rolling Stone Australia

Australia’s number one music and entertainment publisher has partnered with the number-one brand in music publishing.

The Brag Media, which reaches over 5.3 million Australians per week, has entered a licensing agreement with Rolling Stone’s parent company, Penske Media Corporation, to launch Rolling Stone Australia. The agreement marks the brand’s tenth international edition.

Launching in early 2020, Rolling Stone Australia will feature original as well as syndicated Rolling Stone content most relevant to the Australian audience. Its local content strategy will be led by Poppy Reid, Managing Editor, and Tyler Jenke, Editor.

Gus Wenner, President and Chief Operating Officer, Rolling Stone, said:

“This new partnership in Australia, where Rolling Stone has a rich history, allows us to give readers in this important market access to the brand’s unparalleled editorial content and world-class live events.”

Luke Girgis, CEO and co-founder of The Brag Media, said:

Rolling Stone is the most iconic music brand of all time and has meant so much to music, entertainment, and politics for over 50 years. We are extremely privileged to have it join The Brag Media family.

“The Brag Media will not only launch an Australian vertical on rollingstone.com, but we will also be representing all the Rolling Stone Australian audiences across the international sites and social media accounts.”

The Brag Media’s return of Rolling Stone to Australia marks the continuing of the beloved 50-year-old brand in this territory.

Matt Coyte previously published the title in Australia with his Paper Riot publishing company. Coyte independently ran Rolling Stone Australia for five years after he took over the title from Bauer in 2013. Both Coyte and past Editor Rod Yates maintained Rolling Stone‘s global mission to “tell exceptional stories that illuminate the culture of our times.”

In addition to Rolling Stone, The Brag Media publishes; Tone Deaf, Don’t Bore Us, The Brag, The Industry Observer.
