Ten singles debut on the Hot 100 as UMA reclaim market share crown

It was a huge week for new music on the Australian airplay chart, as ten singles debuted on the TMN Hot 100 powered by Radio Monitor.

Among them were radio hitters Maroon 5, who dropped another surefire hit called ‘Nobody’s Home’, landing the highest debut of the week at #24.

Other Hot 40 arrivals were ‘cardigan’ by Taylor Swift (#34) and ‘Taking You Dancing’ by Jason Derulo (#39) and Kylie Minogue’s ‘Say Something’ was the best-placed Aussie debut at #27.

It’s Minogue’s first charting single since 2018’s ‘Dancing’ which made it as high as #10 on the Hot 100. She’s set to release her next album DISCO in November.

Other new singles to land on the Hot 100 this week come from Tkay Maidza, Lime Cordiale, Kygo & Tina Turner, Montell Jordan, merci mercy and Bebadoobee.

It was another week of dominance in the Top 10 for Brando’s ‘Look Into My Eyes’, ahead of Topic’s ‘Breaking Me’ ft. A7s (#2), Dua Lipa’s ‘Break My Heart’ (#3) and ‘Rain On Me’ by Gaga & Ariana (#4).

Sia’s latest release ‘Together’ achieved a new peak of #5 in its 10th charting week and is the highest-charting Australian artist.

This week also saw Universal Music wrestle back the #1 position for market share on both the Hot 100 and Hot 40 over Sony Music Entertainment.

The major was helped to a share of 34.36% on the Hot 100. That was in part thanks to those previously mentioned debuts by Swift and Maroon 5, and upward movement by several artists including Eves Karydas whose single ‘Complicated’ climbed up 12 positions to #28.
