Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers sign with Domestic La La, join UNIFIED management roster
Canberra punk rockers Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers have signed a record deal with Domestic La La.
The young group will join the likes of Dear Seattle, LOSER and West Thebarton on the local label’s roster, which is helmed by Violent Soho guitarist James Tidswell.
Coinciding with the release of their new single ‘AHHHH!’ today, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers have also announced a management deal with UNIFIED Artist Management.
The band will now operate under the management of Ash Hills and Sarah McMillan, who have previously managed the likes of Client Liaison, Slowly Slowly, Mo’Ju and WAAX.
After forming in high school, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers have evolved into one of the country’s most exciting young guitar acts, channeling garage rock, punk and riot grrrl influences into their sound.
The band has previously performed at BIGSOUND, Laneway, Groovin’ The Moo and Falls Festival, and have supported the likes of Polish Club, WAAX, Alex Lahey and Press Club on tour.
UNIFIED’s Ash Hills and Sarah McMillan gave the band a warm welcome to the company’s management roster and said the team was looking forward to working with the all-female group.
“We are so thrilled to officially welcome Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers to the UNIFIED family,” Hills and McMillan said.
“From the moment we first saw them on stage at BIGSOUND 2019 we knew that we wanted to be a part of their colourful, loud, punk-rock world. The girls are an absolute delight to work with and there is never a dull moment.
“We are excited that as women in the music industry ourselves, we now get to support the TJJT girls as the strong, fierce, not-to-be-messed-with women that they are as they continue to develop their careers.”
