BIGSOUND won’t chase the model of other major festivals as the organisation begins planning for 2027 and beyond, according to QMusic CEO Kristy Ellis.

BIGSOUND has locked in new showcases, industry events and international delegations ahead of its 25th anniversary next week.

QMusic has appointed Kristy Ellis as permanent CEO following a national search, as the peak body looks to grow Queensland’s music sector.

Every act on the BIGSOUND 100 will receive increased financial support this year, as QMusic marks the event's 25th anniversary.

QMusic has today announced the appointment of an interim CEO just weeks after Kris Stewart confirmed he will be departing the industry body.
