SXSW Sydney 2025: Festival Submissions Are Now Open

Creatives, big thinkers, and trailblazers — SXSW Sydney wants you.
Starting today (Jan. 30), the third annual tech, business, music, games, and screen gathering opens its virtual doors for panel, speaker, and showcase submissions.
Save the date: this year’s event runs October 13–19, featuring 23 conference tracks spanning Tech & Innovation, Business & Leadership, Marketing & Media, Culture & Lifestyle, Sustainability & The Future, and Creative Industries.
Organisers are on the hunt for “ground-breaking ideas” to fire up SXSW Sydney’s Session Select — the creative engine that sets the agenda.
Last year’s event packed in 1,600 sessions and events, with the SXSW community and a team of conference advisors deciding who makes the cut.
Submissions close on March 23, 2025, with Public Voting opening shortly after, and applicants notified by the end of June.
It’s not just panels and talks — SXSW Sydney is also calling for submissions to its screen, music, and games festivals.
“We’re looking for innovative, genre-defying works,”reads a statement from TEG, which is producing the event, “from feature films, shorts, and games to solo musical projects, bands, music videos, episodic content, and cutting-edge VR, AR, and MR experiences.”
According to organisers, the third SXSW Sydney welcomed a staggering 300,000 guests from 56 countries.
“This is a unique opportunity for creators to showcase their work to thousands of industry leaders, media representatives, investors, and fans from across the Asia-Pacific region, alongside global experts and celebrated artists and creatives,” the statement adds.
Sydney is the APAC hub for SXSW, marking its first-ever expansion beyond its original home in Austin, Texas, where it all began back in 1987.
