Stormzy cracks the Hot 100 for the third time with ‘Own It’

Stormzy’s latest ‘Own It’ debuts at #44 on the TMN Hot 100 powered by Radio Monitor.

It’s the highest debut this week, with the UK grime star teaming up with charts stalwart Ed Sheeran and rising Nigerian singer-songwriter Burna Boy for the new cut.

Stormzy, who announced a 2020 tour of Australia on Friday, has broken the chart on two previous occasions; first with ‘Big For Your Boots’ peaking at #88 in 2017 and ‘Vossi Bop’ rising as high as #83 earlier in 2019.

Sheeran’s star power as a feature on ‘Own It’ is undeniable, with the track now easily Stormzy’s highest placing on the Aussie airplay chart.

The debut takes Sheeran’s tally of tunes on the chart to five, and ‘South Of The Border’ featuring Camila Cabello & Cardi B finds a new high-point of #6.

There are a host of other debuts on the Hot 100 this week, with Tik Tok popularity helping US rapper and singer Arizona Zervas to his first charting single; ‘ROXANNE’ (#69).

Plenty of Aussies landed on the Hot 100 as well.

Kito & Empress Of land at #72 with ‘Wild Girl’, Violent Soho bow at #73 ‘Vacation Forever’, and there are also debuts for The Rubens, Baker Boy, Hockey Dad, Confidence Man and Thelma Plum.

In the upper echelons of the chart, Lizzo & Ariana Grande rack up a third consecutive week at #1 with their Good As Hell remix.

Off the back of her four ARIA wins, Tones And I rises back up to #5 with ‘Never Seen The Rain’, while her viral hit ‘Dance Monkey’ is once again threatening the Top 10, easing up to #11 this week.
