Spotify Tips Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers For 2024 Breakout
From Canberra to the world: Spotify is placing its bets on Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers having a major breakthrough in the months ahead.
The indie-punk outfit represents Australia on Spotify’s New Noise’s Artists To Watch, a list that underlines acts from around the globe that deserve your attention.
Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers are marked for greatness alongside Amira Elfeky, Destroy Boys, Jack Kays, Jhariah, Julie, Scowl, The Beaches, The Last Dinner Party and ThxSoMch.
It’s another holy moment for Teen Jesus, which came in hot on the ARIA Albums Chart last October with their debut album I Love You.
Produced by Oscar Dawson, the LP opened and peaked at No. 6 on the national tally (and No. 3 on the Australian Albums Chart).
In the same month, Teen Jesus performed at Spotify House for the inaugural SXSW Sydney RADAR Showcase, a double-celebration that saw vocalist and guitarist Anna Ryan presented with a cake to celebrate their birthday.
Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers are locked and loaded for the Great Southern Nights programme, set for March 8 to 24 across New South Wales.
But first, a run of concerts across the U.K. and Europe.
High school besties, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers formed in 2015 and got tongues wagging four years later with their debut release, “I Like You Like That,” from 2019.
The track scored rotation on Triple J Unearthed, and opened the gates for performances at BIGSOUND, Groovin The Moo, Laneway Festival and Falls Festival, and support spots with the likes of Polish Club, Alex Lahey, Press Club, and WAAX.
The story continued to build when their debut EP, Pretty Good For A Girl Band, dropped in 2022.
Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers are signed to Unified Music Group’s Domestic La La for recordings, and represented by UNIFIED Artist Management.
Live bookings are handled by Wasserman (for Europe and the U.K.) and Four Tone Artists (ANZ).
