Spotify highlights songwriters and producers behind today’s hits with new curated playlist

Spotify is set to spotlight the songwriters and producers behind some of the world’s biggest hits via a new playlist, ‘Noteable Releases’.

The flagship editorial playlist continues on from the streaming service’s launch of its Noteable hub in February, which collates songwriting and publishing credits to place a greater emphasis on the contributions of those working behind the scenes in the recorded music industry.

The Noteable Releases playlist will be updated each Friday, and will include selected new tracks from songwriters and producers around the world. Accompanying artist features will be released across Spotify’s own editorial and social channels soon after.

Noteable Releases is also launched alongside a new library of Spotify Clips that documents the songwriting and production process of a number of prominent artists from the playlist. Jack Antonoff, Finneas, Zaytoven, Autumn Rowe and Madi Yanofsky are among the first to be featured.

In a blog post announcing the new playlist, Spotify heralded Noteable Releases as a way for artists to form deeper connections with the artists they love, while also promoting the unsung contributions of those who collaborate with them.

“Behind any creator is a team of passionate, dedicated individuals pushing and aiding the artist as they pursue their craft. The same can be said for many musicians, who may enlist a songwriter or producer to help their songs truly take flight,” the post said.

“These behind-the-scenes masterminds often stay out of the spotlight but nonetheless deserve time to shine. At the same time, the artists you love can often be talented songwriters in their own right, something that should also be recognised.”
