Sony Music partners with ARN to launch living room concert series
The latest home-based concert initiative is a combined effort from Sony Music Australia and Australian Radio Network, who have secured a slate of Australia’s top acts for the new series.
The concerts will be presented across ARN’s KIIS Network in Australian capital cities and will be streamable on the iHeartRadio digital platforms, kicking off Sunday, June 21.
Sony and ARN have revealed a massive lineup including some of Australian radio’s biggest stars, as well as a slew of rising acts. There’ll be performances from Sam Fischer, Samantha Jade, Amy Shark, Daryl Braithwaite and Guy Sebastian, as well as Emalia, GRAACE and Kota Banks.
“Although COVID-19 restrictions are set to ease over the coming weeks and months, it’s still unlikely that we’ll have large scale music events for some time, so we’ve created an opportunity for our audience to enjoy live music experiences from some of Australia’s biggest music stars – direct from their living room,” said iHeartRadio content director Brett ‘Nozz’ Nossiter.
Fischer, Jade, Shark, Braithwaite and Sebastian will have their gigs broadcast across Sydney’s KIIS 1065, Melbourne’s KIIS 101.1, Brisbane’s 97.3FM and Adelaide’s MIX102.3.
Jade and Sebastian’s shows will also be heard on The Edge, which will also feature a trio of up-and-comers Kota Banks, GRAACE and Kota Banks. Perth’s 96FM will also air Braithwaite’s gig.
“We’re looking forward to sharing some surprises too, as many of the artists will be performing brand new music for their fans,” added Nossiter.
The announcement arrives after rival networks ramp up their own livestream events. Nova and smooth will hold its Thank You Concert this weekend, to thank essential services workers.
Meanwhile, Triple M’s Garage Sessions have gone online with Something For Kate, Rob Thomas and Amy Lee from Evanescence all performing virtually.
Check out the full schedule below. Most concerts will start at 3pm and will be available to watch on each station’s website, with catchup videos available for 30 days after the performance.
