Melbourne-based independent label Shock Records has announced its deals with two UK labels, Memphis Industries and Holy Roar Records.

The partnership will see Shock release both labels’ titles in Australia and New Zealand. Memphis Industries signings SLUG, Dutch Uncles, Paul Smith & Peter Brewis and Menace Beach all have upcoming LPs slated for release in 2015, while Holy Roar signing More Than Life kicked off their tour of Australia this week and 2015 will see the label release titles from Bastions, We Never Learned To Live, Employed To Serve, Brontide and More Than Life through Shock.

Shock’s Label Director Mick Tarbuk told TMN: “Memphis Industries and Holy Roar are both highly passionate about sourcing and releasing independent music which is exciting to be a part of. Having worked with both labels previously on individual releases it made sense to move the relationship to the next level.”

Holy Roar co-founder Alex Fitzpatrick said in a statement: “With Australia feeling almost like a second home to myself and the label and having seen the stellar work Shock did with Roar-alumini Rolo Tomasi, we could not be happier to be spreading our mystical filth across this part of the world via Shock.”

Holy Roar is also home to heavy music acts like Abolition and Brutality Will Prevail. At one point Holy Roar included UK hardcore band Gallows on its roster, the band is currently signed to Shock’s heavy music imprint Halfcut Records here in Australia.

Ollie and Matt Jacob of Memphis Industries added: “We’re excited to be working with Shock once again. We’ve always had a great relationship with the company, and the new team seems really focused and ready to take Memphis Industries and their roster to a new level in Australia.”
