Select Music Partners With Teenage Dads on Australia Bookings (EXCLUSIVE)

With new music and a headline tour on the horizon, Teenage Dads tap Select Music as its booking agent for Australia, TMN can exclusively reveal.

The Mornington Peninsula band will be represented by Select Music by way of a new partnership, set to be announced this week.

Teenage Dads are kids no more.  Like so many emerging acts at the tipping point, the foursome had its trajectory blunted by the pandemic.

Now, with concerts returning and borders reopening everywhere, the indie-pop act is hitting the boards in a big way and reconnecting with audiences.

Signed to Chugg Music in 2021, the band supported label mates Lime Cordiale on an arena tour in March, headed out on their own trek in May, and they’re currently playing big rooms as the opening act on Spacey Jane’s “Here Comes Everybody” jaunt.

A headline tour will follow in September and October, with tune-up dates beforehand at Bigsound 2022.

The band was previously booked by Vienna Bradley’s Raida Artists who secured tours with Lime Cordiale and Spacey Jane, alongside the upcoming headline tour.

Reps for Select Music are confident a breakthrough is in full swing.

After a recent Sydney show with Spacey Jane at Luna Park Big Top, the band instantly sold out Sydney’s Lansdowne. An all-ages show was put on sale for the same day (Oct. 1) and it too went in minutes. Tickets for a third show, also on Oct. 1, are now gone.

Select Music opened for business in 2005 with agents Stephen Wade and Rob G. Today, it’s recognised as one of the leading, Australian-owned independent agencies, with a stacked roster featuring Rufus du Sol, The Teskey Brothers, Confidence Man, Ball Park Music and many more.

Teenage Dads are four high school friends – Jordan Finlay, Vincent Kinna, Connor McLaughlin and Angus Christie. The group began releasing music in 2019, and shortly thereafter caught the attention of Lime Cordiale, as Chugg Music chiefs Michael Chugg and Andrew Stone watched on.

The lads then supported Lime Cordiale across the Australian Robbery tour in 2019 and 2020.

Chugg Music will present the Ready Teddy Go Tour 2022, which follows the late July release of the single “Teddy”.

Earlier, in April, the band released “Exit Sign” and the Club Echo EP dropped in 2021.

They’re preparing more songs for a wider release soon, reps say.
