The Bronx’s Matt Caughthran hosts new Sailor Jerry-produced podcast

Lead singer of The Bronx, Matt Caughthran, is the host of a new culture and lifestyle podcast launched in partnership with alcohol company Sailor Jerry.

The Sailor Jerry Podcast will feature conversations around music, tattoos, food and travel and bring on artists, chefs and athletes as guest interviewees. The new series launches today, coinciding with the birthday of the brand’s namesake, tattoo artist Norman ‘Sailor Jerry’ Collins.

The first episode of the bi-weekly podcast features Pelle Almqvist, lead singer of The Hives, who discusses life under lockdown in his native Sweden, as well as his experience touring with AC/DC and friendship with Jack White.

American musician and publisher Wesley Eisold, who records under the moniker Cold Cave, will be a guest on the second episode.

The Sailor Jerry Podcast is inspired by the late Collins’ radio show, Old Ironsides, as well as the tattooing counterculture that emerged in the 20th century. The series showrunners have aimed to highlight guests that continue to exhibit these themes of freedom and self-expression.

The Bronx released their latest record, a double LP titled Música Muerta, Vol 1 and Vol 2, under their alter ego Mariachi El Bronx, last year.
