The number-one name in music publishing is teaming up with the country’s most attended music festival with a national first in Australian music history.

Rolling Stone Australia will launch online Feb. 3 and hit newsagents May 2020, and it’ll get a massive push with the award-winning Bluesfest.

Live at Bluesfest, Rolling Stone will host its official launch party, dubbed “Karaoke with the stars”. At the launch party Bluesfest performers will cruise the stage and sing karaoke through the night with guests.

To get on the inside, it’s as simple as buying a Rolling Stone VIP ticket at Bluesfest.

It’s the first time Bluesfest has partnered with a media publisher in this way, a milestone Bluesfest Promoter Peter Noble calls “a match made in heaven”.

“I’m so excited for Bluesfest to be partnering up with Rolling Stone and to be hosting their launch party at Bluesfest 2020,” says Peter Noble. “Rolling Stone is simply the most important music magazine in music… Period. Bluesfest is Australia’s most awarded music festival. They say some things are a match made in heaven… Come celebrate with us.”

The Bluesfest 2020 bill is an impressive one. Headliners include Dave Matthews Band, Crowded House, Patti Smith, Lenny Kravitz and Alanis Morissette, who will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Jagged Little Pill by playing the two-time Grammy winning album in full.

All the great vibes of Bluesfest 2020 will happen at Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm, just 10 minutes north of picturesque Byron Bay. Bluesfest 2020 is held from April 9 – 13.

From small beginnings as a single-day event in 1990, Bluesfest is now the envy of festivals the world over.

Taking place over five days near the end of Australia’s long, hot summer, Bluesfest today hosts over 200 performances.

Bluesfest is entering its fourth decade as Australia’s most awarded music festival of all time.

Last year’s special 30th edition was headlined by Jack Johnson, Iggy Pop, Ben Harper and Paul Kelly and earned praise once again from the U.S. live music go-to Pollstar as one of the great festivals on the planet.

Rolling Stone Australia will launch online on Feb. 3 and roll off the presses in May 2020, featuring original as well as syndicated Rolling Stone content most relevant to the Australian audience. Its local content strategy will be led by Poppy Reid, Managing Editor, and Tyler Jenke, Editor.
