The walls are closing in on R. Kelly

Everyone is distancing themselves from R. Kelly right now, with the notable exception of the authorities.

Just one week after the Lifetime channel aired its explosive six-part Surviving R. Kelly docu-series, official investigations have been reportedly launched into the disgraced R&B singer and his closest allies.

Chicago City officials searched the premises of R. Kelly’s West Side Chicago studio that was said to be a holding place for the women he’d allegedly abused over the years, details of which were explored in the TV series.

It’s the latest sign Kelly may be in deep, deep trouble. Earlier, Fulton County District Attorney’s office in Georgia announced it was looking into sexual abuse allegations against Kelly, and officials have reportedly reached out to multiple women who shared their own harrowing stories Surviving, which features testimonies from women that allegedly encountered mental, physical, and sexual harm at Kelly’s hands.

Though Kelly’s legal reps refute all the allegations made against him, the artist is now essentially an outsider.

A growing list of U.S. radio stations have banned Kelly’s music, and his celebrity pals are deserting him. Lady Gaga and Chance the Rapper and Celine Dion have removed their respective collaborations with the former star from digital music services.

The music community hasn’t been forgiving as John Legend (who appeared in the Surviving series), Meek Mill, Post Malone and others disown the singer though his record label, RCA, has yet to comment, presumably to distance itself from any of the lawsuits threatened by team Kelly.
