QMAs announce 2020 Album & People’s Choice Awards finalists
The 2020 Queensland Music Awards will take place in a matter of weeks at their new home of Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall.
Finalists for the Album of the Year category, as well as several QMA People’s Choice Awards categories, have now been announced.
Nominees set to fight it out for the hotly contest Album category include Cub Sport for their eponymous album, Hatchie for Keepsake, Thelma Plum for Better In Blak and WAAX for Big Grief.
The People’s Choice categories, presented by Oztix and The Music, are Metro Venue of the Year, Regional Venue of the Year, and Festival of the Year.

The 2020 edition of the QMAs is also set to feature a new emerging artist category for the first time.
The winner will receive a Noisegate Producer Package valued at $2905, as well a one-on-one session with a leading booking agent, manager and publicist as well as a QMusic one-on-one session and an invitation to attend the 2020 Amplify Songwriting Retreat.
Celebrating the brightest emerging artists and established legends, the 2020 Queensland Music Awards will take place on Tuesday, March 3, with discounted tickets available for QMusic members.
Set to perform this year are Cub Sport, Miiesha, Busby Marou, Jaguar Jonze and Order Sixty6.
2019’s winners included Tia Gostelow, The Jungle Giants, Confidence Man, Clea, Amy Shark, The Triffid, Sahara Beck, and The Big Pineapple Music festival.
