P!NK adds two more shows, total Australian tally heads to 2m

Live Nation Australia this morning added two more Sydney shows for P!NK’s Beautiful Trauma tour – and announced that the US superstar total Australian ticket sales were heading to surpass 2 million.

The new dates are at Qudos Bank Arena on Saturday August 25 and Sunday August 26.

The Beautiful Trauma tour now takes in 35 shows: Melbourne takes the lead with 11, followed by nine in Sydney, seven in Brisbane and four each in Adelaide and Perth.

It runs between July 3 and August 29.

The Beautiful Trauma album through Sony Music Entertainment Australia, which topped the TMN and ARIA charts, has been certified 4 x platinum in this country.

P!nk has long been a massive live drawcard in Australia.

Her first visit here, the Try This tour in 2004, consisted of six arena shows.

The I’m Not Dead tour (2007) saw her play 35 shows to 308,000 fans and grossed $42 million on the Australian leg.

She became the most successful female artist in Australia during that time.

The Funhouse tour (2009) hit 58 shows – a spectacular achievement considering all the European shows totalled 81 and there were 12 in North America.

The Australian leg set a new record at the time for the biggest tour in the history ever in this country by a female artist.

According to Pollstar magazine, it was attended by 660,000 people and grossed over $80 million.

In Melbourne she drew 214,956 over 17 dates at Rod Laver Arena and grossed $21.7 million.

In Sydney P!nk did 12 dates, ten at the Entertainment Centre where she pulled nearly 110,000 with a $15.5 million gross, breaking Kylie Minogue’s previous record of nearly 93,000.

The Truth About Love (2013) shifted 320,000 tickets within hours of going on sale here.

It eventually hit the 650,000 mark, setting a new record for a solo act.

In Melbourne she broke her own attendance record with 250,000 . The shows were recoded for a concert DVD, The Truth About Love Tour: Live From Melbourne.

At the end of that tour, Live Nation Australia president Michael Coppel revealed that P!nk had sold a total of 1.5 million tickets in this country.
