The teams have been announced for the Perth bash, held Sunday, September 9 at Fremantle Oval.

The Bandgropers (musicians) will be lead on the field by the Tenille Elkins (Elk Bell, APRA AMCOS) and Leon Ewing (Beaverloop, Sonnenmasse).

The four coaches include two Perth music legends, Bob Gordon (former editor of X-Press and managing editor of Around the Sound) and Dixie Battersby (former publicist for EMI).

The Bandgropers squad includes musicians from Sugar Army, The Tommyhawks, FOAM, The Love Junkies, Little Lord Street Band and Scalphunter.

The Newshounds (media & community organisations) will be led by current WA treasurer and football tragic Hon Ben Wyatt MLA and RTRFM presenter Marnie Richardson.

Their coaches are Simon Collins (music editor at The West Australian) and Danae Gibson (RTRFM’s talk producer).

Media organisations represented on the day include RTRFM, ABC, Channel 10, Channel 9, Noongar Radio, TheMusic and X-Press.

The Brisbane meet is on July Sunday 29 at Bendigo Bank Oval at Hickey Park.

Captaining the media’s Brisbane Lines will be Megan Stewart and Cam Smith, while vice captains are James Brooks and Liv Shoesmith.

At one of their training sessions, Lachie Harris and Sam Virgo from the Brisbane Lions dropped by with tips.

The Adelaide clash (Sunday, August 12 at Coopers Stadium, Norwood) returns for the fourth year, with The Rockatoos (musicians) having won each time, against The Anchors (media).

Before the game, the annual pie night will be held at the Wheatsheaf on August 8.

On August 11 at the Grace Emily, The Grenadiers, Saucy Paws, Oscar The Wild and Bec Stevens play a fund-raiser.

Check out their respective Facebooks for the Sydney (August 19) and Canberra (September 16) clashes for team updates.
