Ashley Page’s Page 1 Management Opens Australian Office, Hires Na-ima Braimah (EXCLUSIVE)

Page 1 Management is writing a new chapter after fifteen years in the biz.

The New Zealand-headquartered management company founded by Ashley Page in 2008, has opened an Australian office and hired Na-ima Braimah as its market lead, TMN can reveal.

Braimah joins from The Orchard where she was retail marketing and creative coordinator for more than two years. She entered the distro business following a 12-month internship with the global distributor’s parent company, Sony Music.

“It’s exciting to be working more closely with the artists,” Braimah told TMN. “Just being more involved in that creative process was the main thing that drew me to [Page 1]. It’s also very exciting now that we’re opening up again – a lot of opportunities are presenting themselves.”

Page told TMN on Friday that with borders opening up and parts of the music industry beginning to rebuild, it felt like the perfect time to enter the Australian market.

“To have somebody on-ground that is able to be in front of people, in person, is absolutely vital in this day and age,” Page said. “To know the DSP setup, and to be able to work with brands and wider opportunities from in the marketplace, is fantastic.

“Na-ima has talked about the ability to take Australian culture to the world. And that is something, from my side especially, that has excited me from the conversations that we’ve had.”

Page 1 Management represents a number of local and international hitmaker musicians, producers, and songwriters including Joel Little (Taylor Swift, Lorde), ‘Laxed (Siren Beat)’ creator Jawsh 685, Rory Noble (Kanye West), and more.

As a producer, Page and Braimah said Noble is a top priority. One of New Zealand’s hottest producers – whose credits include Kanye West – he recently stepped into the spotlight as a solo artist and, according to Page, has “a big international record” on the immediate horizon.

“Rory’s at an exciting place at this point in time. He’s signed to Warner Music,” Page adds.

Last year former Sony Music Publishing exec Danielle Middleton came on board to lead the management company’s U.S. activities from New York.

In December, The U.S. arm of Page 1 Management signed ClickNPress, the Grammy Award-nominated Nu-Era production team of Kaleb “KQuick” Rollins and Marc “Fresh2Def” Soto.

In addition to the new Sydney presence, Page 1 Management also has offices in Auckland, New York, and London, with studios in Los Angeles, and operates indie label Dryden Street, with plans on the publishing side that will “come to fruition in the next few weeks”.
