APRA AMCOS has responded to Australia’s bushfire crisis by making it easier to raise funds for those affected, releasing a comprehensive guide to benefit concerts.

In addition, APRA has organised for complimentary licences to be made available through OneMusic for anyone organising an official benefit concert.

The huge number of recent benefit concerts announced has been a clear showing of the intent of the music industry when it comes to supporting Aussies suffering in the wake of the recent bushfire crisis.

APRA has helpfully released a list of all official benefit concerts that have been announced so far, with updated listing for gigs that have already sold out.

The guide also has contacts for anyone wanting to lend their talents to a benefit concert, or for who to contact if you’re an organiser needing a licence.

“It’s heartening to see all the efforts our members and the music industry at large are undertaking to help raise funds for those affected by the devastating bushfires,” said the announcement.

“We want to help get the word out.”

Part of raising awareness for these gigs include a move for visibility via the hashtags #bandsforbushfires and #gigrelief.

“If you’re organising a gig or would like to donate your talents to one, email us with a link and relevant artwork,” APRA said.

“If you’re organsing an official benefit concert, please make sure you secure a complimentary licence with OneMusic Australia via email.”

In addition, there’s a ‘wanted’ section where artists are already starting to list their talents as available, as well as listings for volunteers wanted to help out with a couple of already-organised gigs.
