One of One Industry Events Return For Women and Non-Binary People
The One of One Annual Breakfasts are back for 2023.
The five-date tour across Meanjin (Brisbane), Larrakia (Darwin), Kaurna Yerta (Adelaide), Naarm (Melbourne) and Eora (Sydney) will focus on uplifting and elevating the strong and diverse community of female and non-binary professionals in the music industry. It officially kicks off with an invite-only event on International Women’s Day on Wednesday, March 8 in Brisbane.
Follow-up events then take place in Darwin (March 10) and Adelaide (March 15).
The Melbourne (21 March) and Sydney (March 24) events will be ticketed, enabling a wider range of people to attend.
Event organisers Sarah Hamilton, Joanna Cameron and Bec Young noted the evolution of the event this year.
“We’re excited to once again host events in Darwin, Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne and can’t wait to meet the community in Brisbane. Whilst One of One is essentially run by three directors (in our own time and in addition to our full-time jobs), we also engage with members of the community in each city to assist with producing the events and ensuring they are state-led. One of One is here for the community, so we respond to what will work in each location,” they said.
“This year, for the first time ever, tickets will be on sale to the general industry for our events in Melbourne and Sydney. Previously these have been invite only, but we have listened to feedback and want to ensure more people can attend who may not have been invited in the past.”
They said the events would prioritise sharing and collaboration, and ensuring that new relationships and connections are formed.
Tickets for the Sydney and Melbourne events are on sale on Monday, Feb. 27. They can be purchased here. People can sign up to the mailing list here.
