On The Dial: No hit104.1 relaunch?; Williscroft back at 2Day; Nova COO heads to Melbourne

No hit104.1 relaunch?

Sydney’s 2Day FM kicked off Monday with some fresh imaging and positioning to close 2014, but not a re-launch to hit104.1.

With the move, 2Day has adopted the same voice talent and imaging as used for hit107 Adelaide. They have also introduced the 20 Hits in a Row position to Sydney, along with the tag of “Move to It”.

Williscroft back at 2Day

Adam WIlliscroft is back and has been appointed as Content Director of 2Day FM Sydney.

Until early January WIlliscroft was ACD at the station before focusing on his regional group role covering all of SCA's 80+ regional stations. He also spent a lot of time mentoring Dan and Maz at the beginning of their career, which should help as the they move into breakfast in 2015.

Donna Puechmarin is moving back to her home town of Brisbane to take over the reigns as Content Director at B105.

Donna was instrumental in the success of the B105 breakfast show when she was EP.

And Mickey Maher current CD for B105 has been promoted to Head of Content – SCA Regional Radio. Maher takes over Adam Williscroft’s positon with the group.

Triple M Hot Breakfast locked away

The Ink’s finally dried with SCA announcing three-year contract renewals for Eddie McGuire, Mick Molloy and Luke Darcy for the Triple M Hot Breakfast.

A few weeks back, when Radio Today spoke to Group Content Director Craig Bruce asking if the boys were locked away for 2015 he said: “Yeah, having consistency in breakfast is critical for every station's success and 3MMM is no different […]

“In my opinion on their day they are the best show in the country by a country mile and we are absolutely wrapped to have them on board. By the way Luke, Eddie, Mick even Rosie – the chemistry in that studio, that is incredibly precious and we are happy to have them on-board for a couple of more years.”

Nova Entertainment: Lou Higgins to Melbourne

Nova Entertainment’s Chief Operating Officer,Lou Higginsis heading to Melbourne to manage both NOVA 100 and Smooth FM for 2015.

Higgins will handle her current COO position for the group as well as guide the two NE brands as the Melbourne market heats up in 2015.

With the move, current General Manager Helen Davies will be leaving NOVA Entertainment at the end of the year.

KIIS 101.1 Melbourne: The Team Builds

ARN have announced a number of new key appointments for Melbourne’s new radio station, KIIS 101.1, launching on January 19.

Sacha French joins KIIS 101.1 as Executive Producer of the new national drive show with Hughesy and Kate in 2015.

Assisting French in drive is Sarah Griffith, who will also be producing 3PM Pick Up.

Matt Acton will also be joining KIIS 101.1 drive as the anchor with Hughesy and Kate. Acton has been with SCA for the last 12 years, most recently on SEA FM Gold Coast breakfast.

Cushla Travers joins KIIS 101.1 as Executive Producer of Matt Tilley and Jane Hall for Breakfast; and finally Simon Baggs will be travelling south in 2015 to join the new Breakfast team on KIIS 101.1 anchoring Matt Tilley and Jane Hall for Breakfast.

ARN National Content Director, Duncan Campbell said: “The calibre of people joining ARN is extraordinary and will further strengthen the content team in Melbourne on KIIS 101.1 and give us every chance of success in 2015.”

Ross Wallman to SEA GC

With Matt Acton’s departure from SEA FM Gold Coast, SCA have announced that 92.9 Perth'Ross Wallman will be joining Breakfast line-up for 2015.

Andrew Very, Southern Cross Austereo Gold Coast Content Director said, “I’m thrilled to announce Ross Wallman will be joining the Sea FM breakfast line-up in 2015. Ross joins us from 929 in Perth where he has successfully anchored breakfast and some of the best workday shifts in the country.

“Ross also did a brilliant job covering Sea breakfast in April this year, he made a huge impression with our listeners and staff, so it was an easy choice for us to make!”
