Hot91.1 new Breakfast team and a new on-air sound
Things seem to really be hotting up on the Sunshine Coast. Not only is Hot91.1 launching a new breakfast team, but a new music format and sound for the station as well.

Sam Coward and Lynda Edmunds have been pegged as the new Breakfast team for Grant Broadcasters Hot91.1

Lynda Edmunds has been part of the Hot91.1 family for the past 7 years as an announcer and news reader.

She’s joined by a local of 33 years, Sam Coward. Sam’s an international actor and director of the stage and screen.

“We’re looking forward to getting to know the listeners and just can’t wait to get started! We’ve got some exciting things planned and we can’t wait to share them with everyone,” said Edmo.

McClymonts for Festival of Chocolate
The Rocks in Sydney will be transformed into a chocolate oasis with visitors able to wander from stall to stall tasting, indulging and taking home all kinds of delectable treats, and even join smoothfm’s Cameron Daddo in the Callebaut Test Kitchen.

The McClymonts – Brooke, Sam and Mollie – will sing their track Forever Begins Tonight.NOVA Entertainment is extending the brand with the festival now sponsored by the second series of Network Ten’s Recipe to Riches.

The smooth Festival of Chocolate, to be held in The Rocks in Sydney on October 4 and 5.

NOVA Entertainment’s Group Marketing Director Tony Thomas said, “The smooth Festival of Chocolate is another example of smoothfm creating great experiences for Sydney-siders. With so many strong exhibitors, partners and sponsors, this is a must attend event in Sydney for all the chocoholics out there.”

Triple M launch new digital stations
While only going to Adelaide and Perth, SCA launch their latest digital radio offering Triple M Modern Rock Digital, over weekend.

Being a Modern incarnation, it will serve rock from the 2000’s to now. Think acts like The Black Keys, the Arctic Monkeys, Alt-J and Linkin Park, and Triple M Modern Rock say they will also champion Australian acts like Kingswood, Boy & Bear and John Butler Trio.

Head of the Triple M Network Mike Fitzpatrick said: “Cut Triple M open and we bleed rock music. It’s a beautiful, ever-evolving art form created by the hands of musical craftsmen and women. The evolution of rock is such that we’ve built a place where the new sounds and varied styles of the genre can live.”

At the beginning of September APN News & Media, the parent company of the Australian Radio Network, and The Radio Network signaled to the market that they were looking at divesting their New Zealand radio assets, being TRN. APN NZ owns a stable of media assets in print, radio, digital and e-commerce – some of the biggest brands in the country. But that has changed.

APN NZ, TRN and Grabone have moved into a single corporate brand, now known as NZME. NZME or “N-Zed me” stands for New Zealand Media and Entertainment.

CEO Jane Hastings launched the new company brand saying: “Our combined assets have exceptional reach in the New Zealand market with 2.9 million people connecting with our brands every week.”
