PRESS RELEASE:

QMusic has announced that Maggie Collins will join the BIGSOUND programming team for 2016.

Maggie is a triple j radio presenter, and co-owner of Fans Creative Management (DZ Deathrays, John Steel Singers, The Creases). The breadth of her experience and current engagement across the music industry means that she is ideally positioned to contribute to the continuing growth and development of BIGSOUND. Maggie’s ability to articulate a clear vision for the future of the event made her the standout in a very strong field of candidates.

Maggie will join BIGSOUND executive programmer Nick O’Byrne in a co-programming capacity. As in 2014, Nick has delivered an exceptional program this year, including a standout list of keynotes that includes Peter Garrett, Jessica Hopper, Brother Ali and Marc Geiger.

Maggie will be formally welcomed into the QMusic fold at the BIGSOUND opening party at Bakery Lane on Tuesday 9 Sept.

BIGSOUND is Australia’s premier music industry conference and new music showcase. It has been produced by QMusic and staged in Brisbane every September since 2002.
