Historic Beatles interviews to be auctioned off as NFTs

A number of historic interviews with The Beatles will be auctioned off this week as NFTs.

Minted and auctioned by the Voices of Classic Rock Archive (VOCR), the four interviews have reportedly not been heard in decades.

Each of the four interviews will be with one member of the band.

They are titled: John Lennon on "A Day in the Life", Paul McCartney on "Chaos and Creation in the Backyard", George Harrison on "Abbey Road" and Ringo Starr on "His Lost Medallion."

All of the interviews will come with their own unique artwork and a WAV file.

They are lifted from VOCR's extensive archive of 650 interviews and radio shows from throughout music history, which were acquired by the late Kathleen Wittbold.

VOCR's managing director Jonathan Firstenberg said that the Beatles interviews are some of the most valuable items within VOCR's archive.

“The owners of VOCR acquired this remarkable archive from its creator, Kathleen Wittbold, because they understood that there would always be future growth in the value of audio content for all things related to classic rock music," Firsternberg said.

"All of the interviews contained with VOCR are unique, and, like any other important and unique object or artwork, they will continue to grow in rarity and value over time."

“The extensive variety of Beatles interviews that we have in our collection are, perhaps, our most comprehensive and valuable assets," he continued, "that is why we wanted to launch with John, Paul, George and Ringo – the ultimate Classic Rock Stars!"

The interviews will be minted on the Ethereum blockchain, with bidders only able to use Ethereum to make a bid. Each of them carries a minimum bid of 1.25 ETH (approx. $6,200 AUD).
