Australian heavy music veterans Sunk Loto have signed a new management deal with Welkin Entertainment Management.

The Melbourne based company, which was founded in 2007 by Ne Obliviscaris co-founder, vocalist and violinist Tim Charles, operates across several facets of the Australian heavy music industry.

Initially focused on event management, Welkin produced festivals including Progfest and Sonic Forge. They also offer booking, artist management, label services and promotions.

The company is now consolidating its operations around artist development and a select management roster of Australian and international heavy acts.

Sunk Loto becomes the company's fourth management signing, alongside Ne Obliviscaris, emerging progressive deathhore outfit Ironstone, and Swedish progressive death metal band An Abstract Illusion.

“I'm incredibly excited to be able to welcome Sunk Loto to the Welkin Entertainment management roster,” Charles said. "One of Australia's most distinctive and influential heavy music bands, it's a genuine privilege to now be working alongside them as they begin this exciting new chapter.

“Their return in recent years has generated incredible momentum, with sold out shows continuing to stack up across Australia, and with each new song that is released, Sunk Loto show that their best era is just on the horizon.”

Charles brings an artist-led perspective to the business through his work with Ne Obliviscaris, as well as his experience as a booking agent, label manager and festival promoter. His career has also included a number of independently developed fan-funding initiatives, including the record-breaking 2014 crowdfunding campaign to support a Ne Obliviscaris world tour.

Two years later, the band launched a monthly subscription service through Patreon to fund its ongoing career, becoming one of the earliest adopters of the direct-to-fan model at that scale.

Sunk Loto will return to the stage this Friday for their first shows since 2023, armed with their latest single “Dead Shadows”.
