Spilt Milk Festival Moves to Geelong

Spilt Milk officially has a new home in Victoria.

The regional touring festival has revealed that after four events in Ballarat, Geelong will play host for Victorian fans from this year through to at least 2030, thanks to backing from Visit Victoria and the City of Greater Geelong.

"Geelong is the perfect stage for the festival's next five years, and we want to thank Visit Victoria and the City of Greater Geelong for backing what Spilt Milk can do - their support means we can keep proving that a world-class festival doesn't need a capital city and keep bringing tens of thousands of young people to regional Victoria every December," Director and Co-founder of Kicks Entertainment, Ryan Sabet, said.

State Member for Geelong, Christine Couzens MP, added: "Bringing Spilt Milk to Geelong is a fantastic opportunity for our region, most importantly, for our young people. These kinds of experiences give them the chance to connect with friends, create lasting memories, and enjoy world-class music close to home. I'm proud that Geelong is attracting these major events."

According to Spilt Milk, the festival has put more than $46.7 million* into the Victorian economy since 2019. The 2025 festival - headlined by Kendrick Lamar - brought in $17.2 million, with 34,100 people travelling in from outside the region and attendance growing from 28,602 in 2019 to 38,729 in 2025.

Rolling Stone AU/NZ was on ground for the final edition in Ballarat last year, where Lamar and Doechii stole the show.

"Kendrick in cruise control, however, is still Kendrick," the live review reads.

"Minimal visuals; black and white silhouettes; no backing track — just long, breathless verses delivered unfathomably clean. Through the drizzle, mud, and a hungry crowd, his set was a reminder of what festivals are supposed to feel like: messy, communal, imperfect, and bigger than the conditions.

"Spilt Milk 2025 was a reminder that a lineup this strong doesn’t need perfect weather. The artists just need to show up. And they did."

The 2026 lineup is expected to drop in the coming weeks.
