Justin Bieber’s music video Baby has become the first clip to achieve one billion views on Vevo.
The achievement comes off the back of a renewed social media push by his fanbase to see the video reach the milestone before Bieber’s 20th birthday, on March 1.
Eleven of Bieber’s video clips have achieved more than 100 million views on the platform: Never Say Never, One Time, Somebody To Love, Never Let You Go, One Less Lonely Girl, Love Me, Mistletoe, Boyfriend, Beauty and a Beat and As Long As You Love Me.
Videos that have achieved over 100 million views are awarded Vevo’s ’Certified’ marker, which was implemented in June 2012 to give online videos a similar certification system as ARIA and RIAA’s Gold, Platinum, and Diamond sales awards.
